Who God blesses, no man can curse

What I love about this passage is God’s faithful nature shown in the life of Joseph. God reminds us that he really is faithful to his children. Although Joseph had been handed into slavery, God granted him favour amongst the men who were enslaving him. Because Joseph was righteous, God was with him. That is such a simple yet encouraging statement. For those of us striving for success in our lives businesses and careers,, this was another reminder that God blesses the hands of his children when they walk with him. The scriptures further emphasise this. John 15:4-11 is an example.

“ Abide in me, and I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me”

Joseph was a slave, but he had God’s favour and his master, [who didn’t have God’s favor] saw this and was glad. He knew a man like that is someone he wanted to have in his home. It’s a reminder that Gods favor for us, further establishes his glory in the eyes of others. What we are blessed with is almost always for the gain and benefit of others. The wisdom, integrity and diligence of Joseph is something Potiphar and any sensible politician would want in their camp. That in itself was wisdom. The scripture goes on to say from the moment he became the head of operations in Potiphars home, business and assets, Potiphar was blessed too, because God was blessing Joseph.

Moral of the story:

- God’s favor follows the righteous

- Do your work well, so others will see your light

- When we walk with God’s favour, even your enemies are blessed.

God made Joseph a table at the presence of his enemies. He anointed him and his cup was overflowing (Psalm 23:5)
